WELCOME GEORGE MOUSSAB AS INTERIM CEO

WELCOME GEORGE MOUSSAB AS INTERIM CEO

Join us in welcoming George Moussab as our Interim CEO! While our Board of Directors conducts an official search for our next CEO after David Scott’s retirement in December 2024, George will provide wise and trusted leadership for the Mission.

George sensed a calling to ministry early in life. He served as a student leader with InterVarsity at Rutgers University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. He also received his Master of Divinity from Biblical Theological Seminary. After college, George assisted in youth, young adult, and worship ministries at Calvary Church in Essex Fells, NJ while pursuing a career in engineering.

In 1999, George left the engineering field and started at the Market Street Mission as Program Director. While working at the Mission, he also helped plant Christ the King Church in Dover, NJ in 2000 and became an elder and a pastor there.

Along with his responsibilities as Program Director, in 2005, George began teaching the Chemical Dependency and Relapse Prevention class to our Life Change Recovery Program residents. That same year, he also introduced the Celebrate Recovery curriculum to our program, combining 12-step recovery work with worship. George continues both to teach this life skills class and lead worship music at Celebrate Recovery meetings and other Mission chapel services to this day.

In 2013, George took the position as Mission Coordinator to oversee the program and operations at our Asbury Park location, and was then promoted to Head of Operations to oversee all Mission programs across our locations. He was promoted again to Chief Operating Officer in 2020.

George’s roles at the Mission have prepared him with both hands-on ministry and leadership experience, and we know he will lead the Mission with Christlike love and grace as he serves as Interim CEO.
