The Market Street Mission is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and all donations to the Mission's programs are tax deductible.

We are an independent work and are not associated with any larger organization, church, or denomination. The Mission receives no direct government funds, nor are we a United Way agency. The individuals we help are without any insurance coverage and we never charge for the services we offer in the community.

All support for the Mission's programs comes from individuals, businesses, civic organizations and foundations in this local area. Last year, 22,200 individual donors made cash gift contributions to the Mission's programs. In addition to cash gifts, we accept used cars, saleable clothing and household goods in good condition to be re-sold at our thrift store locations. The revenues from these sales are tax deductible and also used to fund our programs.

We are deeply grateful for these ministry partners - without them, this work would cease to exist.

10 Ways You Can Help Make A Difference
  1. Donate canned foods, clothing, blankets, and other supplies to help the hungry and needy.
  2. Be an advocate for the homeless by speaking at church or community functions.
  3. Read and learn as much as you can about the problem of hunger and homelessness in America.
  4. Encourage your friends and neighbors to help those less fortunate than themselves.
  5. Write to your lawmakers that you want a portion of tax dollars spent on programs to help the homeless.
  1. Work with local schools to educate children about our nation’s poor and needy.
  2. Volunteer a few hours each month to help those in need.
  3. Vote for passage of ballot measures that address the problems of homelessness.
  4. Have your local supermarket set aside unsold or damaged food items for the hungry.
  5. Continue to support programs that offer the homeless meals, shelter, hope, and help in turning their lives around
